If you're available from June 7th-11th and in the the greater New York area, I might have a cool opportunity for you to test some new cars and talk about your experience on camera. Here's how.
If you're interested, leave a comment here that tells me in less than 250 words (important to pay attention to that 250 word rule, k?) about why you're well-suited to help a non-enthusiast make their car purchase decision.
Also, tell me what automotive — and non-automotive — publications you read and maybe a link to a picture of you and a car you love, own, or once owned. Also, maybe a link to your Facebook/Twitter account — because that's how I'll get in touch with you.
Good luck!

Any chance of this happening down the line in DC also? I'm in the NoVa area, and so are a lot of other Jalops/Opponauts. Might be worth looking into.

Dear Ray,
My name is Brian and I love cars! I've been reading Jalopnik for about 2 years now, and have been a prominent member on Oppositelock for about half that time. I believe I'm suited to help a non-enthusiast make a car purchase decision because I've been doing it for years with my friends and family. Cars are my passion and I center my life around them.
(my car is on the far right, also pictured is my father's 328d and my mother's C300 4Matic)
I live in Orange County and will drive to ANYWHERE YOU ASK ME TO

I've been reading Autoblog for years, before I knew Jalopnik existed. I also read Engadget and sometimes read Motortrend. And the Tosh.0 blog. (it's hilarious)

Hi Ray! Like everyone else on this website, I've been obsessed with cars for my entire life. But unlike a lot of people here, seven years ago I made the decision to commit to living in a New York City, where people and automobiles are forever locked in a battle over control of the streets.
This might seem crazy! It likely is. But if anything, not owning a car in the city of pedestrians has made me even more fanatical about extolling the virtues of vehicular transportation. My friends have long since tired of hearing me pontificate on the pros and cons of whatever model just drove past (you'd think they'd appreciate it), and my girlfriend wishes I felt as strongly about our relationship as I do the future of manual transmissions, but no matter! I will not be swayed.
Basically, what I'm saying is that I've spent the last seven years talking about cars to people who could not care less, and they still invite me places, so I must be doing something right. I also work in TV news so I understand how to speak succinctly on camera. I read Jalopnik, TTAC, and occasionally Autoblog for car news; and Newser, NYTimes, WaPo, other Gawker Media blogs, and Gothamist for kicks.

Hey Ray,
My name is Tom; I am a professional car-buying consultant. That means people (mostly non enthusiasts) pay me to recommend what they should buy and negotiate on their behalf. I also write fairly extensively about car-buying and the industry in general. Many of my posts have been featured on Jalopnik. In addition to various automotive publications, I also read Money Magazine and Parenting. I am interested in your event but need more information regarding the logistics and schedule. With a full-time job, wife and toddler, attending an event like this takes some planning on my part. I do live in South Jersey so I can get to NYC easily. I'd be happy to discuss this further.

Adding a picture of me in a car I love dearly, my girlfriend's dad's K5 Blazer (that I hope to convince him to sell to me one day).

Ray,
My name is Ben and cars are my passion. I currently daily drive a 325WHP Subaru Legacy GT and autocross it every month, but drive a Volvo 850 Turbo Wagon, a Ford F150, a Honda Civic, and a Subaru Outback on a regular basis. I attend races at the local drag strip as well as Lime Rock Park. I've spent time working on dirt track cars with a local team, and I am the "go-to guy" for all my friends and family for anything car related. I have been reading Jalopnik for 3 years, and have been contributor to Oppo for around a year. Other publications I read include Motor Trend, The Economist, Rolling Stone, and Time Magazine. I am currently in a position with a very flexible schedule for the month of June and would love nothing more than to contribute to this site which has given so much to me in knowledge as well as laughs!

Hi. Ray.
My name is Mike and I drive a bitchin Passat wagon. It's my first car and I really like my German car. I drove it as a courier in New York for a couple of months. I also used to drive a Nissan UD truck around the city while working production gigs. I have different perspective than most drivers and would really enjoy the opportunity.
